Worshipful Brother Lukas Roger Kelly, Provincial Grand Junior Warden was the principal guest at the Installation of Brother Michael Joseph Wright into the Chair of Adoniram of the Murray Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 490 on Tuesday 2nd April 2019. Lukas was supported by V.W. Bro. George Daniel Jones PGJO, Past APGM, V.W. Bro. Kenneth Alker PGJO, two Acting Grand Officers, three Grand Officers and the Provincial Grand Master’s Special Representative. In total thirty six brethren attended to make sure this was a very enjoyable occasion for the Master elect.

The Lodge being opened and the usual business conducted, the distinguished guests entered in processional order under the direction of W Bro Terry Dickinson Prov AGDC, who was acting in his usual capacity as Lodge DC. Following a very cordial welcome by the WM, W Bro Bill McMath and the usual salutations, the WM invited his son W Bro Andy McMath to take the Chair for the Installation ceremony.

Bro Mike was presented and Installed into the Chair in an excellent and very professional way. The working tools were explained by Bro Terry Worthington, who was only advanced into the degree in February 2018, in a faultless manner. W Bro Frank Anderson delivered the Keystone address followed by W Bro Martin Stokes who gave the address to the Master with his usual sincere style.
One highlight of the ceremony and which provided much amusement to the brethren was when Mike was asked who he appointed as DC and he mistakenly chose the wrong “Terry” and announced Terry Worthington instead of Terry Dickinson. It was worth the admission money alone to see the colour drain from Terry Worthington’s face!
The addresses to the Wardens and Overseers were given by W Bros Bill McMath and Alex Hammond respectively, with the address to the Brethren by W Bro Lukas Kelly.
Following the Installation, Lukas was presented with two cheques, one for £250 to the West Lancs Mark Charities and the other for £250 to Pemberton Masonic Hall.

The Festive Board was buzzing with the usual banter that comes from this friendly degree and it was pleasing to see two non-Mark Masons in attendance to enjoy the proceedings. Application forms were waved in their direction when they took wine with the WM, along with the usual comments about every Lodge represented on the evening being the best one to join! Both brethren took it all in their stride and thoroughly enjoyed the evening as did all present.
